Destination Lika among the world's 15 most successful examples of sustainable tourism development
At the end of 2020, the Lika Destination was included in the list of TOP 100 sustainable global destinations for the first time (Global TOP 100 Sustainable Destination). For the sixth year in a row, this list is provided by Global Green Destinations - an international foundation that gathers the world's sustainable tourist destinations.
TOP 100 was launched to show stories about sustainable tourism and good examples of destinations, as inspiring examples for others. 100 destinations in the world carry this prestigious title this year, and the destination Lika is among the 15 finalists! Lika was chosen by the expert jury for an example of cooperation with the local community with the theme "Local products in the function of sustainable tourism development", with an emphasis on the Lika Quality system.
Destination Lika is on this list thanks to the application of the Lika Destination Cluster, which always emphasizes the need for sustainable development in its projects. The title of TOP 100 is a great recognition for the previous work on the branding of the destination and a confirmation that the business of the cluster is correctly oriented, all in order to create the conditions for the development of sustainable year-round tourism in the destination of Lika.
