Grabovača Cave Park: new educational "Five Peaks Trail" coming soon
Dry and nice weather are the reasons why the public institution "Grabovača Cave Park" these days continued with the work of tracing and cleaning the new educational path in the area of the significant landscape "Risovac - Grabovača". This news was shared with journalists by the director of this institution Jelena Milković.
- It will be the sixth educational trail in our institution, for the routing of which we partly use the existing forest trains and roads, and partly the existing, marked hiking trails. The new circular path, called the "Five peaks path" is about 30 km long and connects the peaks of Grabovač (770 masl), Sklopač (777 masl), Metlača (799 masl), Risovac (860 masl) and Pećinski vrh (793 masl). . Some parts of the trail offer a panoramic view of Lake Kruščica and the Lika River, and one part of the trail runs along the canyon of the Lika River. The start and end of the trail is in Grabovača Cave Park, near the souvenir shop (Entrance 1). The primary goal of this investment is to relieve the narrow part of the Grabovača Cave Park (Samograd cave and other educational trails), which the Institution started with in 2022 by opening an excursion site along the banks of the Lika River. The work on the new track will be completed by April 2024. We carry out all the work ourselves, and in the last phase of the realization of this project, markings and road signs come next, said director Jelena Milković.
