Growing interest of Lika family farms in the Lika Quality product quality assessment system
Emphasizing the protected mark for the quality of Lika Quality products throughout Lika has become a matter of prestige and certainly the best confirmation of the quality of everything on the market that bears this mark. This has been going on since 2017, when the Local Action Group (LAG) of Lika organized the "Integra Lika" program, the brainchild of which was Tomislav Kovačević, the current director of Plitvice Lakes National Park. From the very beginnings to today, the number of manufacturers and products that are protected by this sign is constantly increasing. More about it was said by Acting head of LAG Lika Marija Ćaćić.
- The quality system of Lika Quality today counts 172 locally produced products in 12 categories created by the hardworking hands of 48 producers, and these numbers are constantly growing. It is a system that is intensively developing from year to year and gathers more and more producers.
In order to make the mentioned high-quality products as visible and prominent on the market as possible, the Lika Local Action Group works intensively on the promotion of local products and producers, and for this purpose it has carried out a series of activities to encourage short supply chains, launched the official Lika Quality Facebook and Instagram pages, and entered into cooperation with Instagram food bloggers who promote and review Lika Quality products, says Marija Ćaćić from LAG Lika, expecting new family farms and their products that will request the Lika Quality label.
It should also be noted that the Lika Quality mark is carried by many different Lika products, from fruits, vegetables, honey, brandy and souvenirs to Lika lamb protected by the EU seal for quality and autochthonous origin.
