Ranch Vel'ki Mlin - a journey through the passion of the Grgurić family
Today we will introduce you to one of the wonderful corners of Lika, a household that cherishes the love for horses and nature - the Grgurić family. We take you to the village of Ribnik, not far from Gospić, where the Vel'ki Mlin ranch is located, an oasis that offers unforgettable experiences to lovers of equestrian sports and nature.

1. Tell us something about yourself, what do you do and what does your offer include?
We are a small family farm that breeds sports horses, preferring the Akhal Teke horse breed, and we also offer recreational riding and socializing with horses on our property.
2. How long have you been doing this business?
We have been breeding sports horses for the last 18 years, and we have been offering horse riding for the last 10 years.
3. What is the most interesting thing for visitors at the ranch?
Each visitor finds something for himself; mostly, people like to try horse riding, but there are also those who don't want to. They fill their time by walking through nature, staying on the river or in the company of horses or dogs (King and Gin), who are always ready to socialize.
4. How many horses do you own?
We currently own 22 horses.
5. Are they difficult to maintain?
Caring for a horse is a lot, but I wouldn't say it's difficult because if you love something, it's not difficult.
6. How much time do you spend a day at the ranch?
We spend time at the ranch whenever possible, which is mostly weekday afternoons and all day on weekends.
7. How long does it take to train a horse?
The time required to train a horse is relative, since each horse is an individual by itself, but in order for guests to safely ride it, it takes between one and two years.
8. Which horse is the most rewarding for you?
We have a couple of horses that have participated in distance races, but I would not single out any of them because for us each of their successes is the greatest, and their names are Dunav, Degenija and Grom.
9. We heard that you also have a star in the team. Can you tell us more about that?
Yes, our star who appears in one movie is called Arak. Currently, one of our historical films is being filmed in which our Arak is recognized as an actor.
10. Do you recommend nearby tourist facilities to your guests?
We always recommend nearby facilities to our guests, and a lot of guests come to us on the recommendation of those same destinations.
