The European Commission selected Lika Destination as an inspiring example of sustainable destination development
The Lika Destination cluster participated today in the international webinar "Good Practice Webinar", which was organized by the Rural Pact, a body established by the European Commission in accordance with the vision of the development of rural parts of the European Union. The event brought together experts from all over Europe to exchange examples of good practices that link sustainable tourism, preservation of cultural heritage and development of rural entrepreneurship.
The conference was opened by representatives of the European Commission for Rural Development and Regional Policy, and selected experts from the field of sustainable development attended. Special emphasis was placed on the exchange of experiences and inspiring local initiatives that can serve as a model in other European regions.
The cluster was presented at the webinar by president Petra Kovačević with the topic "Lika Quality label: integration of culture, gastronomy and sustainability in the destination of Lika, Croatia". In her presentation, Kovačević presented the Lika Quality system as an innovative model that connects local producers, tourism stakeholders and the local community through common goals of sustainable development, promotion of cultural heritage and environmental preservation.
By participating in this event, Lika has once again confirmed its role as one of the leading examples of good practice at the European level when it comes to the development of sustainable tourism in rural areas.
