Educational trail "Una" opened in Štrbci
In the village of Štrbci, located in the municipality of Donji Lapac, one of the most beautiful natural attractions in Croatia has been officially opened — the new “Una” Educational Trail, created for all visitors and nature lovers.
The trail was developed as part of a project by the Adventure Sports Club Association “Unarafting,” co-financed by the European Union. It stretches 2,450 meters and includes three rest platforms, 18 wooden benches, 8 educational and informational panels, 10 informational signs, and 20 trail markers. Visitors are offered a unique experience of the pristine nature of the Una River canyon, along with education about the local plant and animal life. Entry to the trail is free!
The opening was supported by numerous locals, guests, and nature enthusiasts who explored part of the trail with expert guidance and became familiar with its features, messages, and objectives. The gathering continued with local products and the warm hospitality of residents from the Municipality of Donji Lapac and members of the association.
The project was co-financed with €97,946.11 through the Rural Development Programme of the Republic of Croatia. It was highlighted that this is the only project of its kind under this call implemented by a local association rather than a public institution, which further emphasizes its importance for the community.
The “Una” Educational Trail is now open to all visitors and nature lovers. Entrance to the trail is free, and the organizers have invited everyone interested to explore, experience, and share it — with respect for nature and the community that created it.
