Aronia - berry fruit

 

The holder of the family farm is Mrs. Manda Obljajac. The family farm is located in the village of Rastoke near Gospić. They are engaged in farming, and breeding sheep, cattle, and Croatian cold-blooded. In addition, they are engaged in the cultivation of berries - chokeberry, currently represented by the daily sale of the fruits of chokeberry, but in the future they plan to engage in the production of other foods from this fruit.

Aronia is a type of berry that has nutritional properties that make it desirable in the human diet. The species is Aronia melanocarpa. It ranks among the leading types of fruit in the total polyphenol content due to which it is attributed strong antioxidant properties. The body's defense against oxidative stress plays an important role in the prevention of dangerous diseases of today, such as cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

The fruits are small, apple-shaped and weigh 1.0-1.5 g. They ripen during August, and the ripe fruit is characterized by an intense purple-red color on the outside and red on the inside.
