Modeled after the Lika Quality system, Zadar County is launching its own regional quality system

The Lika Quality model, which is in many ways unique in Croatia and the success it has achieved, has also interested the neighboring Zadar County, so the advisors of the Department for Rural and Island Development and Agriculture and Fisheries were in Gospić today to present this system.

Ivana Starčević from the Lika Local Action Group and Petra Butković and Viktorija Rogić from the Lika Destination Cluster were pleased to present this model and the results achieved. The Lika Quality project is just one of the successful sub-projects of the Integrated Economic Development of Lika and the Coast INTEGRA LIKA 2020 project.

The Lika Quality system is a regional quality system for food, beverages and souvenirs produced in the Lika destination. The Lika Quality logo was designed as a combination of the traditional Lika hat and the international quality mark - the letter Q. The logo is protected by the State Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Croatia as a guarantee trademark, the holder is the Lika Local Action Group, and the project is implemented by the Lika Destination Cluster. Currently, the system includes 169 products from 59 manufacturers from the Lika destination area, which includes the Lika-Senj, Zadar and Karlovac counties.

Products included in the Lika Quality system are available at the joint Lika Quality product sales point in the Plitvice Lakes National Park, where small local producers had the opportunity to sell their products under a joint brand for the first time in one of the most visited places in Croatia. Soon, the products will also be on sale in the Northern Velebit National Park, Paklenica National Park, Velebit Nature Reserve and other protected areas in the Lika destination.

Representatives of Zadar County, motivated by the success of the Lika regional quality system, want to launch the same system in their county. Aware of the fact that every region in Croatia has an exceptionally rich gastronomic offer and very high-quality producers, they want to help producers from the Zadar County area and motivate them to continue producing their quality products, but in this way they also want to ensure that Zadar County, just like Lika, becomes a true gastronomic destination.

As the Lika Destination Cluster says, this is not the first time that other regions have inquired about launching the Lika Quality system, as several LAGs from other parts of Croatia have already been interested in launching the label, which only proves and confirms how commendable a project the Lika Quality system is.
