The old-growth pine forest, deep shade, chirping of crickets, birdsong... Borje Camp is a perfect place to relax, enjoy the moment and escape the hectic everyday life. It is situated in the natural environment of the Lička Plješivica mountain and the wooded Mrsinj hill and has been designed to blend in perfectly with the landscape of the protected area of Plitvice Lakes National Park.
The first thing you will notice is the century-old pine forest which will provide a unique camping experience. The cycling and walking trails nearby will enable you to explore the hiddenmost corners of the breath-taking Plitvice forests. Spend your days enjoying various activities or simply relax and lounge in nature.
Borje Camp is an excellent starting point if you want to explore the quiet and lush Lika region. Located at the very edge of Plitvice Lakes National Park, it is 16 km away from the south entrance to the Park (Entrance 2). The smaller surface area of the camp means less crowds and a more peaceful atmosphere. Covering an area of 6.5 hectares, the camp is able to receive 408 campers who are free to choose their desired camping plot.
The camp offers washroom facilities with showers and hot water, as well as special washroom facilities for persons with special needs, free electric power and free Wi-Fi connection.
The camp also has a children’s playground as well as sports courts for table tennis, grass volleyball, five-a-side football and hanging bowling.
In close vicinity to the auto camp there is a restaurant with the same name, Borje, with a distinguished gastronomic offer. It is a 240-seat à la carte and self-service restaurant. Within the restaurant there is also a coffee bar, a shop and a currency exchange desk. The rustic interior of the restaurant makes for a warm and cosy atmosphere, while its summer terrace with a spectacular view is especially inviting.
The beautiful Plitvice Lakes are most certainly the main reason to visit the camp. 16 lakes flowing into each other through endless waterfalls, surrounded by lush forests and serene nature of the Lika region are magnificent at any time of the year. Nevertheless, if you want to experience a unique blend of people, mountains, food and tradition, make sure to explore everything else Lika Destination has to offer.
Only 15 minutes from Plitvice Lakes National Park you can find Barać Caves – a museum nature has been carefully crafting for millions of years so that visitors of today can admire it in awe, fully mesmerized by the views of the cave halls and passages brimming with stalagmite, stalactite and stalagnate structures. Enjoy another captivating view of the underground world at Cerovac Caves, a 4-km-long cave system that is the largest in Croatia. The Cave Park Grabovača is the only cave park in Croatia with an invaluable wealth of underground karst formations. In only one of the parks you can find one quarter of the total number of protected speleological objects in Croatia.
Along with the natural beauty of the karst landscape, seize the chance to get acquainted with the work of the great scientist and visionary Nikola Tesla. The Nikola Tesla Memorial Center is situated in the village of Smiljan and it pays tribute to the life and work of this great scientist through a multidisciplinary approach.
